Task
After being presented with only the description of an image I found that there were a lot of unanswered questions within what you would visually expect to see. This left my sketch really open to creative liberties, which in turn would influence my created image at the end of the exercise. I used the first retaken image as an guide for what I was going to make on photoshop; I used the photo to size and scale what was included in the image. Each step was crucial in the process and massively influenced the outcome, which was an interesting development within my understanding of creative development and the importance it plays within a project.
Final Image
Each object in the image has been individually manipulated and combined to mimic the context of the image I had in my mind. Using each part of the image in such an isolated way was really interesting to explore- the unrealistic tone within the image as a result interests me. I felt the element of fantasy was a really important aspect; memory, communication and perspective are all really unreliable at times so I felt the need to communicate this lack of objective reality/ understanding within the work. I found this exercise really refreshing. I had complete freedom to have fun with it without a pressure for perfection or seriousness. I used element of all three intial resources which I distorted past recognition- I liked that they were included without being too on the noise or simplistic, I think it added a complexity to the image which I enjoy. I also really liked the technical processes I used in photoshop to construct the work, I would like to explore these a little further in the future.
